Issued and updated over the years, these brochures were what visitors to the NASA space center in Florida would get. This one we've dated to 1975 based on the Welcome message from Director Scherer (who was at NASA in this position from Oct. 11, 1971 until Jan. 19, 1975 and the narrative on page 18 which describes unmanned Spacecraft used by NASA. That page describes 24 unmanned launches planned for 1975 (18 from NASA facilities at the Cape and six from the Western Test Range). Light overall soiling, occasional penciled notations. Profusely illustrated, mostly in black and white. The leaf before page 50 is a glossy toned insert for HAVONE cigarette cases. Pages 50-61 consist of a glossy monochrome section for Oneida Community plate items. Pages in the rear are ordering sheets and additional items not in the regular catalog. Given the differences in production values, it is apparent that the separate sections were printed separately and then stapled together, the whole enclosed in thin paper covers. Wraps. Some surface damage to the blue coating on the paper (as if it had adhered to something and then was pulled loose). 4 1/2 x 7 3/4 inches. Wraps. Scarce with OCLC noting only a few copies as of this listing. Text in German. Loosely translated, the title is "Message to the public about the purpose and the facilities of the local urban Vocational School" Kloden was "The son of an officer from an old line of Markish nobility, he grew up in impoverished circumstances. In 1801, he went to work for his uncle, a goldsmith. He filled the gaps in his general education while learning engraving. In 1807, he began engraving on his own, and making maps as well, earning a reputation as a geographer. Wrappers are brown paper printed in red with pasted on image of what appears to be a park. String bound (3 hole punches on each image). Worn at the extremities overall. Pasted note "From CC Anderson To Dr C I Anderson 8-7-1908" inside rear wrapper. Images are bright and clean internally. Each leaf has a tipped on image (persumably an Albertype), with most identified in the negative. We see Colonel Harris Building, Pump House Lake, Alligator Pond, New Mess Hall, Conservatory, etc. Wraps. Printed by the Albertype Co, Brooklyn NY. Scarce in the trade, with a half dozen or so appearing in institutional collections.

Plates measure 11 x 15 1/4 inches. The 8 text pages were originally staple bound, now separated with chipping and edge tears but no loss of text or meaning. The illustrated Plates are in near fine condition, with occasional chipping to the outer edges of the plate margins. This beautiful portfolio was printed by the Springer & Moller Lack und Farbenwerke ('lacquer and paint works') in Leipzig Germany. They also printed a number of other portfolios for Grohmann on different subjects. They highlight 'Brush, squirting and stencil' techniques from the Dresden studio of painter Paul Grohmann.
