Unfortunately there are two spots of tape residue on both the front and back boards; previous owner obviously taped Brodart covering in place. Also a bit of residue on back free end page from the removal of a label. Unclipped dust jacket is black with the red and yellow sun pattern on front board. Bright and clean with no bumps or tears; only flaw is a bit of soiling to the white paper on back side of jacket. 320 pages.

The sale item is a book club version, unusual in that it carries a price on the inside of the jacket. Black cloth boards with gold lettering on red block on spine only. Binding is clean and bright, tight and square with no blaws other than minor bumping on spine. Unclipped dust jacket is bright and clean but is worn and chipped at all extremeties. Repairs and restorations have been made. Definitely in good shape for a publication from 1947. 381 pages.
