Description:
Atlantic Monthly, Vol. XXV. --June, 1875.--No. CCXII. Front cover missing, foxing on edges but not on text block, spine missing pieces on top and bottom. Installment VI of Twain's "Old Times on the Mississippi," (pp 721-730) Twain renamed the book"Life on the Mississippi" and it was published in 1883. This excerpt is ten pages long and subtitled OFFICIAL RANK AND DIGNITY OF A PILOT. THE RISE AND DECADENCE OF THE PILOTS' ASSOCIATION. Rare first printing of a portion of Twain's classic book "Life on the Mississippi" as magazine content. Copies of Atlantic Monthly from early years usually survived in bound hardcover volumes. and these fragile individual copies are scarce.
