Description:
London: Sheed & Ward. London, Sheed & Ward, 1932. Limited Edition. Hardback. A near fine copy. Inscribed by the author with ALS tipped in. One of 250 copies printed by Rene Hague and Eric Gill. The recipient of the book and letter was a F.C. Nicholson, about whom I can find no details. Gray is best known for his work associated with the aesthete movement, along with Beardsley, Dowson and Wilde, the latter with whom he had a long relationship. Park considers a utopia wherein the descendants of caucasiains live below ground and the descendants of blacks are all Catholics. An uncommon book, particularly in jacket and inscribed. Spine a touch faded, some general handling wear to the jacket. But overall a superb copy. Illustrations by Denis Tegetmeier [9273, Hyraxia Books]. . Near Fine. Hardback. Limited Edition. 1932.

Description:
London: Orion. London, Orion, 2010-2016. First Edition. First Impression. Hardback. Three [3] volumes, very good condition. A decent set of this highly-regarded trilogy. Cronin's agent sold the film rights to Ridley Scott's production company three years before the publication of the first book in 2010 based on Cronin's 400 page sample. More recently, Scott's company has switched this from the big screen to television (probably a good move). There was inevitably quite a bit of hype around the publication, though thankfully the books have for once largely lived up to it. Volume one is pulled to the front hinge at the half-title as is common. Signed without inscription on a publisher's tipped-in sheet as issued. Volume two is without inscription, with a date (Waterstone's edition with additional chapter). Volume three is #311 of 500 signed copies, issued by a bookseller. A decent set overall. [7486, Hyraxia Books]. 2010-2016 . Fine. Hardback. 1st Edition. 2010.

Description:
New York: Stokes. New York, Stokes, 1922. First Edition. First Impression. Hardback. A very good copy in a good jacket. A rare lost race novel. The author's first novel in the elusive jacket. Scrysmour is a bit underrepresented in the genre, though Ash-Tree press have reprinted her somewhat recently. Bleiler thought the novel a fix-up from two magazine publications, a reasonable suggestion. However, the jacket suggests that the book has never been published before in any periodical, which seems to suggest quite the opposite - however, this is the American publication so perhaps not including British publications. The jury's out. An intriguing science fiction with airships, early civilisations on Jupiter and underground dwarven Israelites and the end of the world. The jacket has loss to the head of the spine and some staining and foxing, it has been reinforced to the interior with brown tape. The book is in blue cloth with a gift inscription.
