Pocatello, ID: Dark Child Press, 1982. Paperback. 175pp. Quarto [27.5 cm] Yellow and black illustrated wraps. Very good. The front cover has a small dark stain, and numerous very small light stains. Spine slightly damp stained. The rear wrap is barely perceptibly sun faded. There are several small light stains on the verso of the front cover and again on the contents page. The top corners of the pages throughout the second half of the text are lightly damp stained. Cover by Raymond Obermayr. Contributors include Paul Metcalf, Charles Potts, Charles Olson, Joanna McClure, and many others. Ex-libris folk singer Rosalie Sorrels, with her name on the top edge of the contents page.

NP: The Iggith Wigdorf, 1969. First edition. 18 leaves printed on rectos only. Oblong [8.5 x 5.5]; beige printed wraps, side-stapled. Wrappers show some mild rubbing, minor wear to rear spine edge, else near fine. Rear wrap is printed in the mirror image of the front wrap. Inscribed on the rear wrap by the author, written backwards (to match the way the rear wrap is printed): "07-82-6 ydnaS morF kcaJ roF" [For Jack From Sandy 6/28-70]. The colophon reads: "PERSONA exists in this edition of 200 copies & the stencils burned.

"POPagandist, billboard bandit, post pop pundit, post-punk prankster, countercultural cartoonist, subvertising executive, culture-jammer. The artist with his finger on the pulse card of the nation. Ron English takes on the icons of pop culture and puts a little "English" on them." Unpaginated.

Denver, 1959. Paperback. 216-245pp. Duodecimo [19 cm] Decorative rose colored and black printed wraps. Very good. The spine and areas of the covers are faded. The edges of the covers are bumped. There is a 1/4 inch tear in the paper at the foot of the spine. The pages are very slightly browned. Swallow Press was a small commercial publisher specializing in three areas: literature, especially poetry, Western Americana, and Belles Lettres. The authors that he published include Anais Nin, Allen Tate, and Yvor Winters.

U.S. Topographical and Geological Survey of the Colorado River of the West. With a number of small abrasions to the surface. Jack Hillers (1840-1882) was working as a teamster when he made the acquaintance of John Wesley Powell. The following year, 1871, Powell hired him as a boatman for his second expedition down the Colorado River and through the Grand Canyon. Over time, he replaced Clements Powell (John's cousin) as the assistant to the photographer (first succeeding E. O. Beaman then James Fennemore). Hillers was a hard worker, highly regarded by his peers, and a fast learner when it came to the art of photography. After serving as the main photographer on Powell's trips, Hillers would go on to work for the Bureau of American Ethnology for many years.

This stream heads in Southern Utah, and runs south until it empties into the Colorado River, about midway in the course of the Grand Cañon. There are portions of an old price sticker on the rear wrap. The spine is just a little rolled back. Minor soiling and staining on the edges of the text block. The text block is fragile in a few places. Illustrated. With two maps in the rear pocket. Including the Diary and Itinerary of Father Escalante Translated and Annotated.

The book is in very good condition. The boards are just a little bit stained, and the front board is slightly warped. Mildly rubbed and bumped at the extremities. There is a large dark area of foxing on the top edge of the text block. The hinges have been reinforced. The pages are tanned. The dust jacket is in good condition only. Age-toned. There are multiple losses from the edges. The largest loss measures 4 inches wide by 2 and 1/4 inches deep. There are also numerous closed or thin tears in the edges. The longest tear is 1 and 1/2 inches long. Fourteen reproductions in colour from original oil paintings, and 16 half-tone plates reproduced in black and white; with essays by Douglas Stewart and Norman Lindsay. Number 881 of 1,000. Facsimile signature of Norman Lindsay on the limitation page.
