Quorn: Pearce Bros. Quality Butchers Quorn, 1953. Promotional calendar issued by Pearce Brothers Butchers at Quorn in the Lower Flinders Ranges South Australia, as Christmas gift to customers. Calendar features smiling maiden bearing gifts of flowers in colour on front cover. Also as part of the calendar is a 12 page meat cookery recipes and hints booklet. The calendar itself features one month per page. Special days and dates of significance are marked with colourful pictorial icons. January 15, for example, displays a rams head with the caption "47 years ago 18500 Pounds wool clip was a record (1906). February 11 notes, "First Court in Australia ordered prisoner 150 lashes (1788). July 16 documents, "castaway white girl reared by blacks discovered at Cooktown Qld (1886). Also moon phases, and birth stones for each month. Some edgewear and creasing at edge of covers, small tears along calendar fold lines. Internally nice and bright.. First Edition. Soft Cover. Good.
