Description:
Edinburgh, Scotland: Edinburgh, Scotland, John Menzies & Co., Hanover Street / Perth, David Wood, 1869, 1st Edition, First Printing , 1869. -----------hardcover, a solid Good example, light edge wear, overall rubbing, fading to the spine, front hinge is cracked but NOT broken, some age toning and foxing to the paper, this copy has been signed on the half title page "Mrs. Fergusson" who was most likely the wife of the author, Samuel F died in 1869 which was the same year as this was published so the author might have never seen this book published or he died shortly after publication, this leads me to believe that the Mrs. Fergusson signature was his wife ( Margaret Anderson, died 1885 ), as well this has been signed on the title page RMenzies Fergusson Logie Manse Bridge of Allan, R is for Robert who was the minister at Logie Manse from 1885 to 1909 so this was signed by RMF in 1885 or after, ---the likelihood is that MRS F's signature was much earlier BUT it might have been 1885… Read More

Description:
Wolfville, Nova Scotia : Wolfville, NS: Gaspereau Press, 1999, 1st Edition, First Printing, 1999. ------------( 1st printing of the First [ and ONLY hardcover ] Edition ) ---hardcover, a Near Fine/Fine example, looks new, ink name and date on half title page, no dustjacket as issued, housed in a lightly rubbed plain black slipcase, ---this is # 19 of 30 hardcover numbered copies issued by Gaspereau Press, this copy has been signed by the author and illustrator, the ink name is for someone born and raised in Wolfville NS, this book is a 1st printing in spite of the fact that the number line on the copyright page starts with a "2", there was no 2nd printing of this title in hardcover so checking with the Gaspereau Press publishers it seems the number 2 on the number line was (is) a publishing error, Gaspereau attributes the error to their being still new to publishing resulting in the incorrect number line ---NO MATTER the hardcover issue is really quite rare with many of the 30 copies going… Read More
