Of a total of 130 copies, this is one of 100 printed on Johannot Paper. Though not called for this copy is SIGNED by the poet on the limitation page and is additionally SIGNED by the poet Mark Strand on the front endpaper, whose copy this was. Laid in is a fine AUTOGRAPH LETTER SIGNED as "Don" from Justice to Strand thanking him for a copy of Strand's WEATHER OF WORDS and giving his reaction to the book. Justice also mentions an article he enclosed (no longer present) as well as commenting on this book: "I don't remember whether you've seen it or not, or whether you liked it or not. Frankly, I have my own mixed feelings about it, but at least it's different from most of what's going on now."

Acquired directly from the publisher's files, this copy belonged to Gordon Carroll who was in charge of the club's operations in the 1970s when it operated out of Avon, CT. Monthly Letter laid in.

Fine in a Good or better dustwrapper. Privately published edition limited to 1000 copies, preceding the trade edition published by Little, Brown and SIGNED by the author on the front endpaper. This edition was intended for "a select group of government officials and opinion leaders in the United States and abroad" according to a photocopied note included with the book. We have handled several copies of this title, one or two of which also included a brief letter from Nixon to a noted individual, which would seem to lend credence to this statement.

Privately published edition limited to 1000 copies, preceding the trade edition published by Little, Brown and usually seen signed by Nixon on the front endpaper. This edition was intended for a select group of government officials and opinion leaders in the United States and abroad. We have handled several copies of this title, one or two of which also included a brief letter from Nixon to a noted individual. This is one of the few copies we have seen that has been INSCRIBED and SIGNED by the author rather than simply signed: "To Joe Fromm/with warm regards/from/Richard Nixon."

Bausch's first book INSCRIBED and SIGNED by him on the half-title page to the noted author of many sports books, Al Silverman: "with gratitude for his/considerable advocacy/and with warm/wishes for his future/life & work." Dated 10 June 1980 by Bausch, 6 days before the publication date. Among the many books written by Silverman is I AM THIRD, written with Gale Sayers, which was adapted for the 1971 television movie BRIAN'S SONG.
