First edition. 307 pp. 8vo., emerald green cloth back, letters stamped in gold and silver gilt to spine, blue-grey paper covered boards, author's name stamped in silver gilt to upper board, publisher's device blindstamped to lower board, top-edge stained light grey. Bookplate to front pastedown. A thin sliver of sunning just at top-edges of boards and spine; two tiny spots to upper board, and a small spot of soiling to fore-edge; nonetheless, the volume is still quite bright and fresh. The dust jacket is moderately edgeworn at spinal ends, with some chipping to crown, and at the top-edge of the upper panel, having a closed tear and some creasing; also, the spine is sunned with a tiny puncture at the lower joint. Overall, this is a very good copy.

1969. KIDDER, Glen M. RAILWAY TO THE MOON. (Littleton, NH: Courier Printing Company for the author, 1969). Limited edition; this copy is no. 1487 from an edition of not more than 1500 copies. Many illustrations from photos. 184 pp. Octavo, brown cloth, gilt-stamped title to spine and upper board. As the author explains in an autograph letter, which is laid-in at the start of the volume, this is one of several copies rebound by him and issued without a dust-jacket due to a fire next to the printer's office. It is a clean and fresh copy despite the slightly rippled book block; thus near fine. A history of the Mount Washington [Cog] Railway, the "brainchild" of Sylvester Marsh.

1932. [PREWAR ADVERTISING] Edited by Shotenkaisha MAEJIMA Sei-ichi, designer. RAJIO CHIKUONKITEN HANJOSAKU. Seibundo, Tokyo, Showa 7 [1932]. 30.0 X 21.8 cm. From an important series of design portfolios originally produced by Seibundo in 1930. The original title of this work was CHIKUONKI GAKKITEN KOKOKU ZUANSHU and the attributed designer was Maejima Sei-ichi. That original series was distinguished as the Advertising Design [Kokoku Zunshu] series. By 1932, the series had been retitled the Hanjosaku [Planning for Profit] series and all reference to the original designer was dropped, new text was added, etc. In addition, it was bound in boards. This one is dedicated to shops specializing in phonograph albums and musical instruments. This volume consists of 50 pages of plates in both color and monochrome. The front hinge is starting, about good overall.

This is thus numbered #58. A counterpoint of Kanzaki's designs for lamps facing pages of designs for matchbox labels in one volume (there was an absent companion volume with a similar design for bookplates done at the same time by Kanzaki.. In his colorful style. Near new in the original slipwrappers.
