Hand-tinted (clothing), with a facsimile of Henri's signature beneath. Sheet size is 29cm x 46cm / 11.5 x 18 inches. At left: "Bazin / 1831". At right: "Lith. de Delpech.". A nice clean copy, light foxing. Several varieties and sizes of these lithographs exist, with and without facsimile signatures. Frensham, Surrey: Sceptre Press, 1971. First edition. . Printed wrappers with translucent wrappers over top. An 8-page booklet, stapled. The entire edition was 150 copies, of which 40 were numbered and signed by the poet. This copy appears to be numbered XIII, but is not signed. A pencil note in the front indicates that it is a "Trial Binding Hors Commerce". A fine copy of Musgrave's scarce second book.

London: K.S. Bhat, Distributed by E. Lahr, 1931. . Red cloth, designed and lettered in gilt. This is SOMA I, from June, 1931. Spine very slightly faded, some foxing of end leaves, about fine. An anthology, contributors include T.F. Powys, James Hanley, Paul Selver, others. Four volumes were published from 1931-33; this is Volume I only. One of 300 copies for sale, of an edition of 350.

Prince George: Words, Loves, 1980. First edition. . A poetry broadside, one sheet measuring 12 X 16 inches. Printed in black & red. Fine condition. Limited to 200 copies. Quite scarce.

Amsterdam: Halmam, 1701 [1702]. . Folio. Full vellum, burgundy morocco spine label lettered in gilt. Extra engraved title dated 1702. Portrait of the author, and 59 copper engravings in the text. The second edition; first published in three separate parts (1625 - 1637). An extensive work on the preparation and use of oils and unguents (perfumed ointments) in Biblical times. Armorial bookplate of Carlo Archinto [Feu M. Le Comte Archinto] on the front fixed end paper. Dust-soiling of end papers, some minor marginal stains to a few late leaves, but a clean and excellent copy. This Amsterdam edition was reprinted in 1710, and again in The Hague, 1725, under another title: "Thesaurus antiquitatum sacro-profanarum in quo ex antiquis Græcis ac Latinis Scriptoribus, quidquid ad Nomina, Usum, & Abusum Oleorum., & Unguentorum ....".

Toronto: Ortoprint, 1954. . 135pp. Tan boards, front cover stamped in blind, spine lettered in gilt. Frontispiece photo of Under. Illustrations by Abel Lee. Limited to 1000 numbered copies. Fine condition. A scarce collection by this major Estonian poet. Text is entirely in Estonian.

Printed paper label on the rear with title and imprint: Verlag von E.H. Schroeder in Berlin, unter den Linden 23. im Jagor'schen Hause. Pinhole at top centre, very nice condition.

[Halifax: Royal Print and Litho, 1931]. First edition. . 8vo. Vellum, the front cover decorated and titled in brown and black. Map end papers. Frontispiece & 9 illustrations. Covers bowed, short tears at the hinge ends from the bowing, a nice clean copy in very good condition. Apparently 500 copies were printed, of which this is one of 250 having the Mersey Paper Company ad leaf at the front. The book was issued in glasine and a box; neither are present here. The book was published by C.H.L. Jones, the text by Thomas Raddall and the illustrations by Thomas W. Hayhurst. Quite uncommon.

Paris: Maradan, 1808 & 1802. First editions. 12mo. [136]pp. + [180]pp. The two works bound in one volume, green boards, paper label on spine. A strip of paper affixed as a repair to the foredge of the title page of Sainclair, and another to the gutter side of the first leaf (slight loss of text); some rubbing of boards, wear to lower spine, very good otherwise. Both works contain 3-page catalogues at the end, listing the works of Mme. de Genlis. Escoffier 121.

[Victoria]: Oolichan Books, 1978. First edition. . A poetry broadside, measuring 8 X 13 inches. Printed in red & black. Fine condition. Limited to 126 copies, this is one of 100 numbered, signed by Marshall. Printed by Morriss Printing Company, published to coincide with the author's reading of The West Coast Trail Poems in Ucluelet. Nicely printed.

Amsterdam: Mercator/Hondius, 1609. . A copper engraved map on laid paper, uncoloured, from the 1609 German edition of the Mercator/Hondius ATLAS MINOR. Image size is 18cm x 14.5cm, on a sheet measuring 23cm x 18cm (9 x 7 inches). Cartouche at upper right. Text on map is in Latin. Text on verso is German. Page number on verso is 466. Clean, very good condition. A regional map of Austria.

NY: Sam H. Harris Theatre, 1925. Color pictorial wrappers, stapled. 32pp. Staples rusting, a nice clean copy. Cover art is unsigned, looks very much like an imitation of Maxfield Parrish. The back cover is a great color ad for Murad Cigarettes. The show this week: The Duncan Sisters in TOPSY AND EVA, based on "Uncle Tom's Cabin". The Sam H. Harris Theatre was in NY, on 42nd St. near Broadway.

London: Hurst and Blackett, 1853. Second edition. The two volumes bound in half-calf & marbled boards, spines designed and lettered in gilt. Marbled end papers. Top edge gilt. No half-titles, ads not bound at the end of Vol II. A bit of scuffing to spine and along hinges, some shelf wear to tips, otherwise a clean and decent set, with the hinges a bit tender but entirely intact. Published the same year as the first edition, anonymously.

Oslo: Gyldendal Norsk Forlag, 1948. First edition.. Cream decorative boards, white cloth spine lettered in gilt. A nice clean copy in a slightly worn pictorial dust jacket, a piece torn from the upper rear panel, and some scuffs to spine and wear to upper edge. Not so common in the jacket. Grieg was the author of THE SHIP SAILS ON (Skibet Gaar Videre) (1924, translated 1927), a novel which strongly influenced Malcolm Lowry when writing ULTRAMARINE. This is a collection of his verse in the original Danish.

Goleta: Unicorn Books, 1969. Second printing. . A poetry broadside, measuring 9 X 12 inches. Printed on newsprint, very fragile. A fine copy. This is not in fact a second printing, but actually a second edition of this broadside; it is entirely reset, printed in a different typeface, and on paper a different size from the original, which was published in 1968. Still, not so common in fine condition.

[San Francisco]: Printed by G. Mackintosh, [1968]. First edition. . A poetry broadside, measuring 8 X 13 inches. Printed on newsprint, very fragile. Paper browning at edges, but a fine copy. This poetry sheet was distributed free in San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury district in 1968. Printed by Graham Mackintosh as a White Rabbit Broadside. Johnston B3. This is the correct first printing, easily distinguished from the second printing of 1969, which was reset and printed on smaller paper. Not common in fine condition.

[Toronto: Aliquando Press, 1992.]. A broadside poem, measuring 28cm x 43cm. Fine condition. Printed in several colours on silvery hand-made paper. In pencil at the bottom: "2/80 Rueter / 92". Limited to 80 numbered copies, signed by William Rueter.

Shallow chipping to spine ends, some rubbing of cloth, inner front hinge cracking, very good otherwise. Issued in "The Gem Series", edited by Epes Sargent; a companion volume in the same format was "The Emerald". Short fiction and poetry from many sources including Chambers's Journal, Household Words, and Blackwood's Magazine. Authors include Wilhelm Hauff, Edwin Arnold, Emile Souvestre, Florence McCarthy; also many anonymous and "From the French". An uncommon gift annual.

Paris: Baudry's European Library, 1845.. Quarter-calf & marbled boards, spine designed in gilt. 351pp. Half-title leaf is present, on it indicating that this is Vol. CCCCXII of Baudry's Collection of Ancient and Modern British Authors. Old stain to lower edge of first few leaves, pencil notes on rear end papers, moderate edge wear, a very good copy. Perhaps the first Continental edition, though Galignani published an edition in Paris in the same year. The first novel in Cooper's "Littlepage Manuscripts" trilogy, which was written in reaction to the Anti-Rent War in upstate New York (1839-1845). BAL 3914, citing the UK first edition.
