Previous owner name on free front endpaper, contemporary with the publication. Tissue-guarded frontis portrait of the author. Black and white illustrations. Leather is drying and shelf-rubbed at tips and spine ends. Hinge is starting between frontispiece and title page. A handsome volume, withal.

Publisher's maroon cloth with upper board and spine labels affixed, octavo, pp. 405. Some shelf rubbing to labels and spine ends. Two tiny holes in front gutter near crown. Shelf scratch on upper board. Hinges just beginning to show signs of tenderness. Internally clean and unmarked.

Publisher's beveled black boards with partially faded silver spine lettering and decorations, small quarto, pp. 253 + [1] + colophon. Fore-edges deckle. Patterned endpapers. Typography and wood engravings by Ilse Bischoff. Some shelf and handling wear at spine ends and board tips. A few pages are unopened. Colophon cites 160 copies numbered and an additional 2,000 not numbered. This copy is one of the latter.

Christmas poetry from the author in publisher's original string-tied wrappers, octavo, pp. [24]. Small front panel Christmas tree engraving by Siri Beckman. Protected in a clear display sleeve with white card-stock backing board. A scarce item, both in trade and institutional holdings, with a 2023 OCLC search returning Library of Congress, Amherst, and Bates College only.

White cloth with gilt spine and upper board lettering and a decorative upper board device, octavo, pp. 175. Gilt a bit faded over the last 90 years. Tissue-guarded frontis of a pensive Bridges, Poet Laureate of Britain from 1913-1930. Printed at the Plimpton Press, Norwood, MA. This copy complete with the uncommon "Publisher's Note on the Text" tipped in at rear. Fore-edge of pp. 83/84 uneven after a clumsy opening, either by a dull implement or an unprofessional hand (see photo). Previous owner has underlined passages of personal interest. Small stain on rear board (see photo).

Publisher's brown cloth, quarto, pp. 616. A few black and white illustrations. Book is in GOOD condition with foxing on the pastedowns and blank endpapers. Dust jacket FAIR with chipping and erosion at spine ends, flap tips, and around perimeter.

Edition limited to 510 copies, of which this is Number 374, octavo, pp. 207. Done up nicely by the publisher in maroon boards with gilt spine lettering and ruling and upper panel lettering within fleur-de-lis accented border, all gilt. Black and white illustrations. GOOD dust jacket has some shelf wear at spine ends and flap fold points. A couple of short vertical tears with no loss from top-edge downward on front. Jacket now protected in a new sheet of removable Brodart.

A Florida public library deaccession, publisher's black boards with gilt upper board lettering and design, quarto, pp. 248, [1]. Illustrated throughout. Library name and discard stamps. Spine ends and board tips rubbed through. Shelf wear along board edges. Spine faded by sunlight. Clean and pleasantly preserved internally.

Old price sticker removal shadow near top of front panel. Scattered foxing. The 2 pop-ups are bright and fully functional, in Very Good condition and without tears. Printed in the USSR.

Nicely done-up by the publisher in green cloth with red and black embossed characters and titles, octavo, pp. xiii, 235 + [1]. Endpapers illustrated in color with characters from the story. Color frontispiece of Alice with Humpty Dumpty and 15 more full-page color illustrations, as well as black and white vignettes by Sir John Tenniel. Color-illustrated dust jacket is price-clipped. Jacket now in a protective sheet of mylar. "In this sequel to Alice in Wonderland, Alice goes through the mirror to find a strange world where curious adventures await her." Of interest concerning selection of Humpty Dumpty as the frontispiece, the fearful Jabberwock (facing page [24]) was originally intended as the frontis until Dodgson himself became concerned it would frighten his young readers, writing in an 1871 letter that it was "likely to alarm nervous and imaginative children . . . and that we had better begin the book with a pleasanter subject." Described as an information guide for visitors traveling to the Shrines of the "SAVIOR OF OUR COUNTRY" (page 2). Fair condition with soiling on exterior that shows more readily than if publisher had chosen a darker color. A bit of a rumpled affair, as though previous owner might have taken the pamphlet along from site to site for frequent reference long ago. Some foxing. Textured glassine endsheets are a nice bonus from the publisher. Safely stored now in a clear display sleeve with white card-stock backing board.

Publisher's stapled card-stock wrappers, octavo, pp. 63. Illustrated with topical vignettes. Light shelf wear. Moderate toning to covers, particularly front panel, which shows foxing and toning more obviously than if publisher had chosen a darker color than cream. GOOD and sound, withal.
