Handsome brown sort of burlap cloth hardcover with faux-leather spine and debossed title, shows minor shelfwear for its age. The textblock is comprised of thick paper with deckled bottom edge, it is somewhat aged in colour but that adds to its charm and the pages remain generally crisp and clean. The ffrep and title have some rust stains from the paperclip which holds the author's business card to the ffep.

Publication date is not listed, but it can be placed in the 70's by the printer William Clowes in its Beccles location and a price sticker on the rear which bears an Eaton's logo from the 1970s.

554 p. Blind-stamped brown cloth hardcover with some (dulled) gilt. Covers are worn, ffep is missing, frontispiece detached but present with some edge tears, shaken, starting at first folio, but the majority of the textblock (pg. 9-554) is in remarkably fine condition for its age, well-bound, clean and bright. This classic by Dickens, one of the best-selling novels of all time, is about a doctor who was imprisoned for 18 years and his life thereafter with a daughter he hadn't yet met, set historically around the French Revolution.
