Original dark green cloth, spine lettered in gilt, elaborately decorated in blind. Chipping and wear to extremities, split to bottom joint, hinges starting. Occasional printing glitches, occasional pencil scoring, esp. at "an invisible hand" paragraph (pp. 264-5), and notes. Else, clean. A good+ copy of Smith's first book, which lays the theoretical foundation for Wealth of Nations.
