Description:
Chicago Illinois: Goodspeed Publishing Co., 1887. A study of the Civil War would be incomplete without a close-up view of Tennessee. Battles were fought here on many famous battlefields -- Shiloh, Chattanooga, Missionary Ridge, Fort Donelson, Murfreesboro, Nashville, Chickamauga. Battles were also fought on smaller fronts, as families and communities were divided between those loyal to the Union and those loyal to the South. Tennessee on Both Sides of the Civil War is an excerpt from the 1887 book: History of Tennessee, originally published by Goodspeed Publishing Co. This NEW spiral-bound 150-page booklet was printed on 8.5" x 11" 60# paper at our printing plant in Tucson, AZ. The front cover is protected by a vinyl sheet. The booklet is divided into two sections: Federal Military History and Confederate Military History. Maps of many battles are included, along with histories of various units, some of which include names of officers. Here's a sample from the beginning of the book: No fact…

Tucson, Arizona: A Plus Printing Co., 1998. Charles Gardner was a member of Company A, First Regiment, Maine Cavalry from December 6th 1861 to December 6th 1864. Between 1909 and 1912 he wrote down his remembrances of that time with the notation that "if it will interest any one I shall be well paid for my trouble." His story was passed down through his family and eventually printed in an 8 1/2 by 5 1/2" 70 page booklet. From training camp, by train to Washington, sent to the guard house, to Harper's Ferry, into battle where he was injured and captured, taken to a prison camp, and paroled -- and this is just the first half of the booklet! The booklet is new. It was originally printed in 1998 as part of a limited edition for family members. We have tried to provide an accurate description of the booklet. The booklet has no index, so we are unable to answer questions regarding content, but are happy to respond to other queries. . Limited Edition Reprint Leavenworth. Stapled…
