An uncommon document with extracts of letters by Charles Pinckney related to warfare in Europe and to "complaint[s] of some irregularities committed by British privateers" (p. 3). Evans acribes this to the press of Childs and Swaine. Uncommon. Evans 27922.

Leaves are heavily toned from the suede, but legible and still strong. Leaves printed on the recto only, contents include Commencement announcement with engraved vignette, program, class officers, and graduating class from medical, dental, and pharmacy. One name underlined in the list of medical seniors. A fairly early commencement program from what is now VCU, Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, a notable American medical school.

Paper covers are soiled, but the contents are clean. An uncommon proof copy of a notable Civil War title. Nevins describes this as a "lightly documented story of the events of the final Appomattox campaign" Nevins I, p. 44.
