Tissue-guard between two engraved portraits of Hugo just before title-page is present, but does have a little ink writing on it. Illustrated with aforementioned engravings and with some reproductions of handwriting by Hugo.There is some age tanning on the pages and a few spots; page numbers 101/102 & 103/104 have tears. This was a Fine condition book, but now has some water damage at the spine area. The first half of the pages have a light water stain that dips down from 1 to 2 inches. The back half of the pages just have a bit of "crinkle" at the top edge near the spine. This is a good readable book. Other than the water stains, there are no marks. There is no mildew or odd smells to the book. Please see photos.Dust Jacket - Fair condition. Actually there is very little wear to the dust jacket; however, the water damage apparently caused the back of the dust jacket to stick, in places, to the back cover of the book.
