An original hand-coloured antique engraving, no date shown but printed circa 1823, and set in an elaborate carouche in which Perrot displays the produce and crafts, etc, of the area. Hand-colouring is contemporary and later. In a plain brown mount and ready to frame. Cartographer is A. M. Perrot, and engraved by Blanchard. A most attractive and decorative engraving of a map of the Vosges Area - featuring the City of Epinal, including Marecourt, Neufchateau, etc, France. 'Sarasin P.' on the left hand side (the Artist) , under the image, and 'la chaussee Sculp', on the right hand side. Additional printed caption "VUE DES CÔTES D'ECOSSE" inverted (mirror image) on the upper margin. Paper very lightly marked, and quite creased and 'rolled', to the edges, with some closed tears - no loss (neatly repaired with archive tape to the reverse) , to those broad blank margins, otherwise a very good engraving.
