Limited edition, no. 6 of 14 copies from a total edition of 114, signed by the author, 8vo, (110) pp. Colour plate tipped onto the title page, black and white illustrations in the text, inscribed from the author and with an accompanying letter loosely inserted. Cloth backed boards, slipcase, fine. The "presentation edition" of 14 copies came with a slipcase and a framed drawing, the latter not present here. All the copies were supposed to have one of the illustrations hand coloured, which is not the case with this copy.

Two volumes. 8vo. xiv, 473, (1); x, 495, (1) pp. Contemporary half calf over dark blue cloth sides, all edges speckled red, a shadow on each of the front pastedowns showing faintly where a prior owner's bookplate has been removed. 43 illustrations in the text. Spines darkened and worn with a small loss to the head of volume I, the contents very good. Freeman, 877. The errata to the first volume has six lines as opposed to the four mentioned by Freeman, which would appear to be a not-unusual variant. The second volume has a seven line errata as called for. The errata of the second issue was quite distinct, with only one one line to the first volume and none to the second.

Folio. 604 pp. Dark green quarter morocco over marbled boards, gilt lettered direct to the spine, matching green cloth slipcase. 195 plates of mills and winches and the like faithfully reproduced from the original edition. A minor scuff towards the foot of the spine, a handsome copy. Reprinted from the Cambridge University Library copy of "Le Diverse et Artificiose Machine del Capitano Agostino Ramelli". More commonly found in the trade edition, bound in cloth with a card slipcase. This would appear to be a deluxe copy produced for the publisher, possibly unique or produced in a very small run.

Alderney: Privately printed for the author, 1962.. Limited edition, no. 90 of 100 copies. 8vo. Publisher's parchment backed red-orange cloth boards, gilt lettered to the spine, author's initials in gilt to the upper board, marbled endpapers, top edge gilt, original glassine wrapper, presentation inscription on the limitation page from White to the travel writer Wilfred Thesiger with the former's customary doodle of a heart with an arrow through it, Thesiger's pictorial bookplate to the verso of the front free endpaper. Wear with some losses to the edges of the glassine, just slight sunning to the upper edge of each board and mild bumping to the corners, an attractive copy.
