CONDITION: Near fine, light wear to extremities of dj. First edition of a popular book by fine-press historian and printer, Joseph Blumenthal. Includes letters from Blumenthal to Wyman Parker, a collector of fine-press books, arranging a meeting with a lauded typographer.  Blumenthal's letters and note trace his attempts to invite the Parkers over for an "informal luncheon" so that they can meet John Dreyfus, historian of books and designer for Cambridge University Press. Letters from August 28th and September 26th, 1975, indicate the difficulty of organizing a meeting with Parker, who at first seems unreceptive. [ca. 1880s]. Albumen print cabinet card, 5.25" x 3.75" on 6.5 x 4" white mount, photographer's stamp in lower right coner of image, a.e.g., ink title on mount. CONDITION: Very good, strong tonality. A cabinet card of German composer Richard Wagner, looking to his left and wearing a cravatte. Franz Luckhardt, an Austrian photographer, specialized in portraits of famous people, particularly artists. Three of his cabinet card portraits-of composer Franz Lizst, pianist Anton Grigoryevich Rubinstein, and cellist Jacques Offenbach-are held at the National Portrait Gallery in London.

CONDITION: Very good in good dj with some losses, breaks and tears to jacket, as pictured. First edition. "One of five thousand copies, of which 1315 copies were reserved for members of the Museum." A classic of American photographic literature, this catalogue records the first solo photography show ever mounted by a museum.

A profusely illustrated souvenir theater program, designed by Gyo Fujikawa for the 1940 Fantasia road show. Features annotations for each composition performed, head shots of Disney, Stokowski and Deems Taylor, stories about all the writers, actors and musicians involved in the productions as well as visitors to the set such as Igor Stavinsky, George Balanchine, Dr. Edwin Hubbell, Thomas Hart Benton and more. CONDITION: Good, damp stains to wrappers, end papers and several inside hinges, 1" tear on top left corner of front wrapper, toning along spine of front wrapper, wear at extremities of back wrapper, included .5" tear and .25" chip, interior clean and appealing.

CONDITION: Good, light soiling to wrappers, light wear at extremities, 3 cm loss to the bottom left corner of the last 10 pp. and back wrapper, but with no effect on printed area.

An un-used, engraved railroad company stock certificate for the Washington County Railroad Company of Washington County, Maine. Includes an image of a train on a trestle bridge, with mountains in the background." CONDITION: Very good.

[Boston, ca. 1880s.]. 4" x 6" albumen print photograph, on 8.25 x 10" mount, manuscript title. George Washington rides high on his horse in this photograph of Thomas Ball's statue in Boston's Public Gardens. The horse's ears push forward, one foreleg up, city skyline in background, a man in a boater hat and white jacket standing nearby provides scale. A manuscript title in bottom right corner reads Washington - Public Garden. CONDITION: Good tonality, mount with some light foxing and soiling.

Detroit Photographic Co., 1902. Hand-colored photograph (9" x 7"), titled in image at lower left, stamps of Detroit Photographic Company dated 1902 at lower right; mounted on original paperboard. A charming hand-colored photograph of two Laguna Pueblo women carrying decorative water pots, one on her head, and the other in her hand; with red scarves, one with floral designs; blue dresses; white blouses and leggings; standing in a shallow dry trench; blue sky, pueblo in background. Title at lower left reads "Water at Pueblo of Laguna, N. M." Illegible inventory number at bottom left. William Henry Jackson photographed the New Mexican Acoma and Laguna pueblos in 1899, and 1902-04 for the Detroit Photographic Co. The Laguna Pueblo, 45 miles from Albuquerque, consists of 6 tribal villages in residence since 1300 AD, (some evidence suggests longer, since 3000 B. C.). CONDITION: Very good.

The 1850 edition of this work first published in 1843, with twenty steel engraved plates after W. H. Bartlett and Thomas Creswick. In a handsome half morocco binding. CONDITION: Very good, moderately rubbed, occasional light foxing and toning to plates, but generally clean and attractive.

Engaging collection of editorial cartoons by Pulitzer Prize winning Maudlin, covering national and international events from the end of the Eisenhower administration to the beginning of the Kennedy era. Inscription reads "For John and Claire with love from all of us. Bill Maudlin 1961." The recipients were Mauldin's friends John Evans, son of Mable Dodge Luhan of Taos, N. M. fame, and his wife Claire Spencer, author and ex-wife of Harrison Smith, publisher. CONDITION: Very good, light wear to extremities, light foxing on flyleaves, 2 cm x 9 cm fading at top of back cover.
