1851 hardcover from Silas Andrus. Condition is Very Good. Black blindstamped cloth shows minimal wear but some small splits at base of spine starting. This does not compromise integrity of binding which remains sound. Endpapers have pencil note of prior bookseller, pencil note on last page, occasional foxing and stains throughout, and bookseller stamp of "Perry & Erety, Philadelphia." Volume is very good - old price erasure front blank, bookseller's stamp front blank, no other interior markings, folds or problems. Shelf wear along bottom edges of boards. Dust jacket is good, not price clipped, moderate wear along creases, to corners and spine, complete. A scarce book especially in the US. Please sees scans of the book you will receive. Notes: This slim volume is underrated. It is a concise account of the players and the action and suggests some interesting ideas. Author provides some evidence that Christian had become mentally unwell. Less credibly she argues Midshipman Edward Young was the underhanded mastermind of the whole affair. However, at least two other authors (far more qualified than I) have written on this topic and found this plausible.

I have no idea who that is. Slipcase has moderate general shelf wear and is somewhat grubby but holding together fine. Book spine with some sun. Remainder of book is excellent. Hardcover, George Routledge, London, 1926. No dust jacket. Condition is very good minus. The primary condition issue is staining of the boards - looks like very old glue (not sticky). Spine sun faded. Interior is near fine. Pencil signature of prior owner and pencil note of library code (see scan). No other library markings or any other marks inside. Binding is sound. Although an older bibliography this volume has the "Dictionary" which gives a brief summary of every title (and much else) which is very helpful and not found in other bibliographies. See L. W. Fisher Unwin London Atlantic Limited Edition #350/620, signed by author, 28 volumes complete. 1924. Overall condition is very good with the following defects noted: leading edges of all boards show wear at top corner (see image), a few gutters have cracked paper (all binding is sound), sunning to spines. Interiors are a high point. Prior book sellers pencil note in volume 1 otherwise no markings or bookplates. All page gatherings remain uncut except for a few in vol. 1.
