Gilt ornamentation to boards, with dentilled edges. Raised bands to gilt ornamented spine. This book has been professionally re-backed in leather, retaining the original decorated leather binding. Minor repairs have been done to the endpapers and a new leather spine label for the title has been applied. The copper plate engravings (some full page, some two to a page) are really quite bright and mostly unmarked by spotting or foxing. Title page is printed in red and black ink. Translated from English into Dutch. Published in two parts, this volume containing 'Eynde des vierden Boeks en des eersten Deels' (the first four books of the first part), with an index of people and places at the end of the book.

The boards are bit scuffed and slightly soiled, with some rubbing to joints and lower right front corner. Front joint split and nearly detached. The internal pages are clean and tight, free from childish markings. The two 45 rpm, double-sided, records (each in its own sleeve) show some fingerprints but no serious scratching. Overall, a good set. A title in the 'Little Nipper' storybook albums (Y-385). Music by Norman Leyden, conducted by Henri Rene. Unbreakable records.

Each lecture is on a different topic. No author attributed. Probably published in the 1960s. All are in very good condition. Sold as a lot of twelve, only.

There is an early name, address, and date (1927) on the front free endpaper. Zeuschner 822. The last page is a glossary. Light spotting & soiling to bds. Spine sl. creased. Binding tight; overall g/vg condition.

Edinburgh and London: W. H. Lizars, Samuel Highley, 1852. 1st edition. Hardcover. folding maps and engravings. pp. 228, ads. 8vo. Bound in original brown cloth stamped in blind and gilt. This was one of the relatively rare titles published by the famous Scottish engraver William Home Lizars (1788-1859). Lizars did the fine engravings for this book; of which there are two folding maps, one plan, ten plates, and an extra engraved title page. The gilt design to the front board (of the Fountain of Ninevah) and the gilt ornamented spine, are both bright, although the boards generally are bumped and shown light wear and soiling. The hinges are a bit tender but tight. The large folding sectional map of Scotland has a large closed tear, now expertly repaired. Occasional marginal spotting to contents; otherwise clean and tight. A good, to good plus, copy. '...and a Series of Six Excursions to the Interesting Scenery around this rising Watering-Place'.
