Some marking and wear to the cloth, all told a sound copy, with a warm tipped-in inscription from the author.

Full green calf, gilt titles on red morocco label to spine, gilt decorations to spine, raised bands, gilt ruling to boards, blind embossed dentelle to turn ins, Turkish marbled endpapers, all edges marbled. Twenty-one illustrations including frontispiece. Black ink ownership inscription to front flyleaf. Some spotting internally, more so first few leaves. Toning to top edge and spine, minor wear to upper spine and hinges. Very good.

London: Picador, 2015. [Modern Literature] SIGNED FIRST EDITION. Octavo (24 x 16cm), pp.[6] 468 [6]. SIGNED by the author in black marker to title page. Publisher's black cloth with white titles to spine, and orange endpapers. With the dust-jacket designed by Stuart Wilson, priced at £14.99, and repriced with a hand-written sticker. A fine, as-new copy, with a Topping & Company 'Signed First Edition' wrap-around band. A novel about Indian migrant workers in Britain, shortlisted for the 2015 Booker Prize.

New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1942. FINE CONDITION, a later edition. Quarto, pp.[x]; 400; [4], blank. Publisher's illustrated cloth with top-edge red, pictorial endpapers, in original card box with colour plate illustration laid down to lid. Book is fine, box is edgeworn with a few neat repairs. A nicely presented copy of this Pulitzer Prize winner, the basis for the 1946 film starring Gregory Peck and Jane Wyman.

London: Methuen and Co, 1919. [Poetry] FIRST EDITION. Octavo (19 x 13cm), pp. xii; [2]; 29; [1]. Publisher's red cloth lettered in gilt to spine, gilt top edge of textblock, untrimmed edges. Ex-libris stamp front-paste down, toning to edges of textblock, wearing of gilt along top edge of textblock, sunning to spine, bumping to spine and corners. Very good. Rudyard Kipling was a poet, novelist, short story writer, and journalist. In 1907, he won the Nobel Prize for Literature. This poetry collection was built between the end of the Boer War and the aftermath of World War I.

London: Victor Gollancz, 1945. [Drama] FIRST EDITION. Octavo (20 x 13cm), pp.76. Publisher's black cloth lettered in gilt to spine, typographic dust-jacket with printed price of 3/6 to spine. Wearing to gilt to spine, sunning to dust-jacket. Near fine. 'The Years Between' is one of two plays that Daphne Du Maurier wrote. This play is set against the backdrop of the Second World War, and unfolds in the library of an English country house. Colonel Michael Wentworth is presumed dead after his plane crashed in 1942, but three years later he mysteriously returns.

With 18 black and white plates by various artists, including the Scottish painter D.Y. Cameron, each with a tissue-guard. Publisher's yellow cloth with titles and decoration in black. All edges untrimmed. Internally clean with some toning to endpapers. A few leaves poorly opened. A large contemporary library label to rear board. Spine browned, with moderate general wear and a 1cm split to head. Very good. The last of 13 volumes in this era-defining series, combining short stories, poetry, essays, reviews, and contemporary art. This issue features 'The Blessed' by Yeats.

Lippincott's Magazine. 1915. First appearance in print, bound from the parts. 8vo. Attractively bound in recent half green morocco leather with gilt titles to spine, black title label. Green cloth boards and plain endpapers. Near fine. Bound from the parts extracted from the 1915 issues of Lippincott's Magazine predating the first US edition in book form, the first appearance of one of Mr. Rohmer's more melodramatic stories, which for the man who created Fu-Manchu, master of the Si-Fan, is saying something. As far as he was concerned if it didn't have an opium den in there somewhere it just wasn't a story. Bleiler; Checklist of Fantastic Literature [1972].

Beautifully illustrated throughout by the author, including endpapers. Binding a little rubbed to extremities. Dust jacket showing light rubbing, frayed to corners and spine tips with a 1cm square loss at foot; minimal marking. Very good indeed.

Housed in a vintage card wallet/folder with pencil title. A slight, yet exceptionally scarce item dating from the very early stages of the Lennon-Ono creative partnership (and possibly prior to their romantic relationship). This the only copy we have seen. Original visitor's information sheets for Yoko Ono's show at Lisson Galley, Marylebone, produced by her first husband Tony Cox, and featuring some collaborations with her show sponsor John Lennon. n.d. [25th August 1966]. Six original black and white photographs of Sean Connery as James Bond, taken on location in Japan during the filming of Ian Fleming's You Only Live Twice. Three photos capture a relaxed Connery in full Japanese costume, in between takes. The other three photos were taken on the actor's 36th birthday, which took place on set; one shows Connery in the daytime still wearing the simple fisherman's costume whilst cutting a cake, and the remaning two show him at an evening party, with 'Happy Birthday' banners, dancing in a Kimono. Director Lewis Gilbert appears in two of the images, as does the Assistant Director Bill Cartlidge. Frankfurt: United International Pictures, 1967. [Movie Memorabilia] ORIGINAL LOBBY CARDS. A set of eight German lobby cards from the film You Only Live Twice [Man Lebt Nur Zweimal], directed by Lewis Gilbert, and starring Sean Connery, Donald Pleasence, Karin Dor, Akiko Wakabayashi, and Tetsur Tamba. Colour half-tone images on thin stock measuring 21 x 30cm, with production credits to lower margin. All eight cards printed together on a single sheet of paper, with perforations. Presented in a black cloth-covered chemise case with gilt titles to spine. Folded along perforations, but no cards detached. A fine set. Note on Format: the Lobby Card is a small poster or titled still printed on card stock, usually 8 x 10 inches (UK and Europe) or 11 x 14 inches (US) in a landscape view. Generally produced in sets of eight in colour for Britain and America, intended for display in a cinema foyer or lobby.

UK, 30th March 1967. [James Bond film history] Typed arbitration decision by screenwriter Jack Pulman, regarding a dispute over the credits of the film You Only Live Twice between script writers Roald Dahl and Harold Jack Bloom. A detailed six-page arbitration including two pages of synopsis of Bloom's treatment compared with Dahl's treatment, with a covering letter from The Writer's Guild of Great Britain, regarding the decision to credit Bloom. Typed stapled sheets and 1pp. letter in fine condition. Eon Productions invited Harold Jack Bloom on a reconnaissance trip to Japan to contribute to the script for You Only Live Twice. His work was ultimately rejected, but since several of his ideas appeared in the final screenplay by Roald Dahl, he was given an official writing credit of "Additional Story Material", as adjudicated by the Writer's Guild. Publisher's black Fabroleen cloth-effect paper [type 'A'] over boards with silver titles to spine and Japanese characters in gilt to upper, bamboo patterned endpapers, dust-jacket by Richard Chopping. No inscriptions, edges mostly clean (one faint spot to top edge), else near fine in similar, lightly edge worn jacket with a light cup ring to upper. This copy was exported and sold in Sydney, Australia (faint seller stamp of Ashwoods Book Shop, Pitt Street), price clipped accordingly. Shows well. UK Cape editions of Fleming's best-selling James Bond series were imported by British overseas territories across the globe [Gilbert], as demonstrated by the present copy.
