Frontis portrait, 16 b/w illustrations, 320pp, handcut. 1 inch x half inch water stain to base of spine with lesser water stain to bottom inch of front board - does not affect inside of board or text.

Shrewsbury: Adnitt and Naunton, 1907. Half Cloth . Very Good. Professionally rebound in maroon cloth and hand-made marble paper ( maroon background with small pebble shapes in different shades of grey each ringed in white or beige ), original illustrated endpapers, title page printed in black and red, 26 pen and ink shetches by the author of scenes from the old parts of the town, each drawing has a page of text, printed on thick paper, 106pp. SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR. Condition of the binding is "new", condiyion of text is vg.

Bound in grey cloth with boards covered in mottled brown/grey paper, no dw, coloured frontis, "Emerging", a young family emerging with broken chains, 3 coloured plates, 77 monochrome illustrations, 6 maps, 288pp. That year saw mant momentous events, the Russian Revolution started, the US declared war on Germany and joined the allies. The "Introduction" says, "The Emerging of the Russian people from the yoke of bondage under Tsardom will probably rank as the great outstanding event of the year, wither the Revolution will lead none of us can say", Faint foxing to endpapers and some page margins.

Contains "Diary of War" from September 1917 to October 1918, 194pp. Some foxing to the pages, boards browning at edges, spine edges are scuffed.
