This postcard depicting the (still) popular hotel in Aix-en-Provence, France was mailed by a US Soldier, 2nd Lt. Jim E. House, 3rd Field Hq, AGRC, to his "Folks" at 830 - 29th St., South Bend 15, Indiana (Pete Buttigieg's Hometown). House is still there. During this era, there was a Dr. AL Wagner who was a well known and published physician.

As postcard was mailed by an active soldier on deployment overseas, it received free franking. It received a "Buy U.S. Savings Bonds-Ask Your Postmaster" slogan cancel. The Military APO CDS Cancel was covered by a nice "South Bend, IND" CDS Cancel dated 2 Feb 1946.
There is minor wear to edges and corners, with a tiny crease in the Upper Right Corner. I appears that a small amount of moisture had caused a smear of some of the message, but did not obliterate it .
