London: National Film Corporation, 1965. Second Draft script for the 1967 film, here under the working title "Female of the Species."

Based on the adventurer character Hugh "Bulldog" Drummond, which appeared in 24 novels and short stories, beginning with "Bull-Dog Drummond" (1920), created by H. C. McNeile under the pseudonym Sapper, and continued after his death, from 1937 to 1954 by Gerard Fairle. As well as the novels and short stories, the character has appeared in plays, radio, television, and most recently in the 2004 graphic novel "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: Black Dossier," written by Alan Moore and illustrated by Kevin O'Neill.

British secret agent Bulldog Drummond (Richard Johnson) is assigned to stop the wealthy master criminal Carl Petersen (Nigel Green) who uses beautiful female assassins (Elke Sommer, Sylva Koscina, Suzanna Leigh) to do his bidding.

Filmed in Technicolor and Techniscope, it was the first production from Amerlon Productions, and one of the many take-offs of the popular James Bond films of the 1960s. Originally intended as a pilot for a television series, the film earned notoriety for receiving an X rating from the British Board of Film Censors who strongly objected to the use of women assassins, torture, and promiscuity.

Shot on location in Liguria, Italy.
