1974/1975/1976. Three letters signed by the 20th century master of blues! All three are addressed to James Fishel (at that time a writer and editor at Billboard Magazine) and are in their original envelopes.;
Letter #1: The first is a TLS dated July 19, 1974, on stationary bearing B. B. King's personal logo. The letter expresses King's hope that the upcoming Chicago Blues Jam will bring greater attention to the talents of Robert Lockwood Jr., Roosevelt Sykes, and Johnny Shines. King's signature appears in blue ink at the signature line. In envelope bearing King's logo. New York, 1974. TLS, one page. In very good condition. One page typed letter on single sheet of light blue 8.5" x 11" personal stationary. Folded twice for mailing. Light soiling on envelope.;
Letter #2: Another TLS, this one dated November 17, 1975 and typed on stationary from King's company Promotions Consolidated, Inc. In it, King apologizes for not being able to accept Fishel's invitation to the University of Miami Blues Festival in April 1975. King's signature appears in blue ink on the signature line. Memphis, 1975. TLS, one page. In very good condition. One page typed letter on single sheet of white 8.5" x 11" personal stationary, with border graphic. Folded twice for mailing, with light wear to top edge. Envelope has two-inch closed tear, and very light age-toning.;
Letter #3: An ALS from King wishing Fishel a happy new year. Post-stamped January 15, 1976. In King's hand: "Hi, / Hope the / New Year is / happy for you / thanks for the / card / Musically your's / BB King". On paper card with marsh graphic. Toronto, 1976. In very good condition. The card measures 6.5" x 7.5", folded horizontally. Faint crease on the bottom right corner. In orange envelope postmarked from Downsview, Toronto, Ontario.;
