Description

FIRST EDITION, AUTOGRAPHED & INSCRIBED collectible edition of 'The Birth Dearth: What Happens When People in Free Countries Don't Have Babies?' by Ben J. Wattenberg, in very good condition, with expected signs of wear due to age on the cover jacket. OWN A PIECE OF HISTORY! 'The Birth Dearth: What Happens When People in Free Countries Don't Have Enough Babies' is as provocative and timely in today's highly divisive conversation regarding women's reproductive choice as it was when this book was first written in 1987. The author's dire warning about "What Happens When People in Free Countries Don't Have Enough Babies" may be an underlying fear that still feeds the roots of today's "hot topic" conversation about a woman's right to choose; it's as politically charged and important now as it was in 1987 when this book was first published. In The Birth Dearth, author Ben J. Wattenberg stresses the urgency of breeding as if the world as we know it will end if women don't have more babies. Especially, WHITE BABIES. The author's antithetical argument to over-population, is perhaps more controversial today than it was when The Birth Dearth was first published! BUT THAT'S NOT ALL! This particular copy is a FIRST EDITION AUTOGRAPHED & INSCRIBED collectible edition of 'The Birth Dearth: What Happens When People in Free Countries Don't Have Babies?' by Ben J. Wattenberg, and it is in very good condition, with expected signs of wear due to age on the cover jacket. The spine is tight, and there are no markings. This copy is autographed and inscribed to Liz Carpenter, a political powerhouse, who was Press Secretary to Lady Bird Johnson, and was aid and speech writer for President Lyndon B. Johnson. Carpenter was a self-proclaimed feminist, and spent much of her life working the corridors of power in Washington as a newspaper reporter, and as an indispensable aide to Lyndon B. Johnson. She also had a reputation as being "funny" as well as being effective. The inscription from the author to Ms. Carpenter is in near perfect legible condition, as is evident in the photos. This book is a national treasure, particularly at this time of the over turned Roe Vs Wade by the United States Supreme Court Justices. The price reflects the rare and historical value of this priceless autographed, 1st Edition copy of The Birth Dearth. *PLEASE LOOK CLOSELY AT ALL PHOTOGRAHS!
