A beautifully presented first edition of this highly illustrated travel work by Dorothy Margaret Stuart. First edition, in the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding with gilt detailing. Written by British poet and author, Dorothy Margaret Stuart, known for her lyrical writing. This work is comprised of fourteen chapters, each providing information on a different country or countries. These include China, Japan, India, Egypt, Italy, Scandinavia and Holland, amongst others. Stuart's aim for this work was to introduce these exotic, far-away countries to her readers. With one hundred and forty illustrations, some of which are in colour.Prize bookplate awarding the book to J. W. A. Ruzieka from Stationers' Company's School in 1927. In the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding with gilt detailing. Externally, lovely with light bumping to the extremities and minor shelf wear. Bookplate to front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. Light spotting to fore edge. Near Fine
