Octavo; publisher's cloth cover in red with the Red Badge Detective series logo in white, in photo-illustrated dust jacket retaining original price ($2.95); 209pp. Foxing along the textblock fore-edge, light glue stain running from the head to the tail of the free end papers, and light toning to the paste-down end paper. Occasional light foxing, but majority of text clean. Light wear to the spine, but overall a sound Very Good condition, with a Very Good dust jacket.

From prolific writer of mystery and detective novels Hugh Pentecost (pseudonym of Judson Pentecost Philips), comes the first novel of the Uncle George Crowder detective series. Retired, and disgraced, criminal lawyer George Crowder lives alone in the woods of New England with only his loyal setter Timmy. However, George is confronted with the brutal murder of his neighbor and a Winnie the Pooh quoting killer on the loose. It is up to George to solve the identity of the culprit before his nephew Joey becomes the killer's next victim.
