Description

New York: Four Winds Press, 1978. First edition. Fine in fine dust jacket.. First printing of this delightful collection of feline poetry, warmly inscribed by both David Kherdian and Nonny Hogrogian with original drawing of a cat. Nonny Hogrogian, an Armenian-American from a family of artists, started her bibliographic career as a book designer for publisher Thomas Y. Crowell. She worked as an art director for several other publishers, until she earned her first Caldecott Medal for ALWAYS ROOM FOR ONE MORE in 1965 - the success inspired her to become a full-time illustrator. It was a good choice: she earned another Caldecott Medal in 1972, and a Caldecott Honor in 1977. Many of her works incorporate aesthetics and stories from her Armenian heritage. 7'' x 5.5''. Original brown cloth boards. Original unclipped ($5.95) pictorial dust jacket. Illustrated in black and white. [24] leaves. Warmly inscribed by Kherdian and Hogrogian, dated 17 October 1981. Sharp and clean.
Used - Fine in fine dust jacket.
