About This Item
New York: Dodd, Mead & Company, 1936. 1st. Hardcover. Very Good/None. Hedwig Collin. Hardcover, 197 pages. Color frontispiece Illustration, b&w drawings by Hedwig Collin. Red cloth cover faded at spine. Title in white on front and spine. Tight, straight binding. Internally very good. The author, an American Minister to Denmark, took some children and with a camper they set out on a trip. The journey took them through the Danish countryside where they explored mediaeval castles and plunged into the blue water of the Kattegat for a morning swim. Copenhagen's serene beauty, and the little country villages, were the setting for their wanderings; and the old legends and fairy tales to be found in Denmark were the leitmotif of the journey.
