Description

(Saginaw, MI): Mayapple Press, 1992. Softcover. Near Fine. First edition. Stapled printed wrappers. Wrappers lightly toned and foxed, near fine. Limited to 500 copies. This is the copy of distinguished foreign service officer for the U.S., Niles Woodbridge Bond (1916-2005). Laid in is a piece of his personalized stationary and the early attempts of a poem in pencil, eventually finalized in pen on the back: "It is not the thought of dying. / The terror lies rather in the thought / Of dying unloved by you." An unexpected and interesting find.
