"Among contemporary writers on the Oregon Question, and on the events of Oregon history on which that question depended Greenhow should deservedly be mentioned in first place" (Eberstadt). Cowan, p. 249; Graff 1653 citing the first Washington, D.C. edition of the same year; Howes G-389: "Leading contemporary authority, well documented."
