New York: John Wiley, 1849. iv, [3], x-xi, [2], vi-vii, [1], 115pp, [1]. Contents leaves misbound. With two initial leaves of publisher's advertisements and an engraved frontispiece. Original publisher's blind-stamped black cloth, lettered in gilt. Lightly rubbed, gilt-stamp of the Birmingham Medical Institute to foot of chipped spine. Ink-stamps of the aforementioned institution to frontispiece and title page, scattered foxing, occasional underlining in ink. The first edition of pioneering American physician Horace Green's (1802-1866) treatise on the diagnosis and treatment of croup. . First edition. 8vo.
