New York: Random House, 1959. [xiv], 76pp. With three leaves of photographs. Original publisher's yellow cloth-backed blue paper boards, lettered and stamped in gilt and black, with a photographic portrait laid on. With the original publishers printed dustwrapper. Spine a trifle cocked, top and bottom edge fading, with some marking to both boards; wrapper is sunned and nicked at the edges. Internally bright and clean, with the presentation inscription to the FFEP: 'To Larry - With deepest respect and admiration. Fay and Mike' dated Sept 11, 1957. Fay and Michael Kanin wrote for both stage and screen as a collaborative force in the arts for much of their marriage, beginning with their first adapted screenplay Sunday Punch (1942) - written on their honeymoon - to which MGM bought the rights. They were nominated for a joint Academy Award in 1958 for Teacher's Pet, among many other accolades. Fay went on to be president of the Academy from 1979 to 1983. From the library of Laurence Olivier, to whom many books were gifted over the length of his illustrious, industrious, and enduring career as one of the most important figures of stage and screen in the 20th century. .
