The author, one of 1920s Britain's 'Bright Young Things', worked as a Society reporter and circus publicist before a successful career writing romanticized gypsy & circus stories; this is her first novel. Hardcover, full red cloth, black titling, yellow & blind-stamped decoration. Light wear to book, top edge of rear cover mouse-nibbled; light creasing, minor chipping, & some smudging to jacket. Text clean; 375 pages, including one of circus, Romany, & rhyming slang.. Later Printing. Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good. Small Octavo.
