Quarto (29 x 21cm), pp.224. Generously illustrated with many black and white photographs. SIGNED in black ink by Roger Moore to fly-leaf (a full, contemporary signature which developed into a faster and less legible autograph in his later years). Publisher's black cloth with silver titles to spine, and cream endpapers. With the colour photographic dust-jacket, priced at £10.95. Containing a loose sheaf of papers and letters relating to a libel case brought against the publishers of this book by Dorothy Squires in 1987. Moderate handling to book, with a tear and corresponding repair to reverse of jacket front cover. An advance copy of this photographic biography of Roger Moore belonging to Peter Cotes (1912-1998), director of a production of 'A Pin to see the Peepshow' in New York in 1953 which is credited in the book as Moore's 'Big Break'. Cotes later gave evidence in the 1987 libel case which Squires brought against the publishers, with this case featuring heavily in the inserted correspondence.
