The first edition.A detailed account of the mission of Yakusu in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The aim of the mission was the educate the local people, in the area just below the Stanley Falls.Illustrated with a frontispiece, one folding map, and fifty-three plates.Collated, complete.By H. Sutton Smith, who was a part of the Baptist Missionary Society. Undated, dated from Jisc from a copy held at the British Library.Typed note to page vi, 'The author tenders his best thanks to Rev.Frank Longland for so kindly preparing the map at the end of the book.' In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Some light marks to the boards and spine. Minor rubbing to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Small patches of wear to the joints. Some spots to the fore edge. Rear hinge is starting but firm. Ink inscription of Clifford-Smith to the recto of the front endpaper. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Plate facing page 111 is detached but present. Very Good
