Hardcover, good condition. Title page partially torn out. page facing front cover is written Margaret Woods, August 1926 and Bill & Julia Gainey, December 2, 1975, Franklin, Virginia. Lovely colored illustrations on front cover and before the title page. The other illustrations throughout the book are in black and white.

Book is in Good- condition, with most of the gold gilt detail worn from the cover, general edgewear, corners bumped and rubbed. Prior owner name written on front flypaper. Hinges showing beginnings of weakness. The preface page to the introduction page have a small spot at the bottoms of the pages.

1933 hardcover as pictured. A nice copy of the The Beacon Hill Bookshelf edition of the Alcott classic. Binding is intact though front hinge is lightly cracked at frontispiece.
