Measures 8.25x11 inches. Loose postcard "They are the Future." Akino Fuku (1908-2001) first gained notoriety before World War II as a prizewinning female artist, a rarity in the hoary Nihonga tradition. However, the work for which she is best known came later in life, after she was invited at age 53 to teach Nihonga at a university in India.

Cockerell paper marbled cover, with a stamp: Cockerell, Letchworth, England 1954. This book was prepared as a keepsake for the Roxburghe-Zamorano fiesta in San Francisco, 2000. Allywn O'Mara bound it.The drawings on the inside were inspired by paraphernalia of Lillian Marks, Plantin Press. Imprenta Glorias is the imprint of film and television actress Gloria Stuart (Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm, 1938; My Favorite Year, 1982; Titanic, 1997).
