Ten leather bound volumes containing six issues each bound without original covers or ads, and five volumes in original printed blue wrappers. Leather volumes 4-3/4 by 7-3/4 inches; paper volumes 5 by 8 inches. Each issued covered a single topic; topics here include Modern Lenses, Flowers and Trees, Home Portraiture, Vacation Photography, The Darkroom, Landscape Photography, and Aerial Photographs. According to camerapedia.wiki: 'Due to popular demand many issue numbers were reprinted a number of times and some issue numbers were rewritten and reissued to bring them up to date while they remained in print.' Thomas Cotes, 1635. Hardcover. 328 pages with errors in pagination (but catchwords indicate all pages present): 2-14, 15-67, 67-175, 175-225, 228-328. Frontispiece portrait signed G. Gif (George Gifford), and emblem woodcut of the London Stationers on the title page. More complete than the original 1562 edition. Latimer was the Bishop of Worcester and a Chaplain to King Edward VI before being burned at the stake in 1555 under Catholic Queen Mary I. Nineteenth century diced calf, rebacked and restored, new endpapers. The binder severly cropped the pages in some cases affecting running titles and folio numbers. Some penciled marginalia. Armorial bookplate on front pastedown. Newspaper clippings tipped in. Overall a nice copy. Scarce.

The seller was John Cole's Books & Craft Shop in Seuss's adopted hometown of La Jolla, CA, where he lived after World War II until his death in 1991. Seuss was close friends with John and Barbara Cole and often signed books in their bookshop. Original Cole's receipt with customer name matching the inscription laid in, dated August 27, 1969.
