Balance of endpapers nicely marbled. Substantial foxing, page edges worn, with several dog eared pages and small tears. Relatively clean save for a previous owner name penciled on title page, the Arabic numeral date penciled next to printed roman numerals, some very old fountain ink marks on two pages, and pin dot initials on about eight pages. ; 7.10 X 4.20 x 1.20 inches .

A previous (early) bookseller noted "Imperfections", including missing "to Book 2nd, page 66 to 71, to Book the 3rd, page 8 to 11, page 68 to 71, page 74 to 77, page 80 to 85, and to Book the 4th, page 50 to 53" Covers are half leather with gilt title on spine, patterned paper on balance. Front hinge cracked but text block solid. Pages notably clean with some foxing, a few small tears including old repairs, and a few inky fingerprints. ; 11.75 x 7.75 x 1.60 inches .

Attractive blind stamping on front and back covers. Title on spine in gilt. At the back there are sections entitled "The Bookseller Advertisement " with "Fragments" - "A Discourse concerning the Mechanical Operation of the Spirit, &c." Hinge cracked but text block still securely attached. Pages generally clean and bright with some foxing, more foxing and smudges on end papers. Adhesive residue on front end page from bookplate.
