Ginsberg has also drawn an eye between Trudel's name and the date. Trudel's return address in an unknown hand laid-in. Fine condition. Contains two previously printed poems. Book is VG, with only some rubbing on spine, otherwise would perhaps be near-fine, with sharp corners on the boards. Pages are bright, clean, and unmarked, with no significant yellowing. DJ is Fair, with some fading to the spine area, a tear in the upper-left-front that affects the top of the 'O' in "Doctor," a tear at the bottom of the spine, some rubbing, and some water-staining that is only visible on the inside of the DJ.

Signed by Larry McMurtry by the headline of his article with the following inscription "For Matthew-I can't remember this at all-it is almost my first effort, Larry McMurtry". Contributor William Corrington has also signed his piece. Early ruminations by McMurtry on beat literature. Small chip at bottom edge of rear cover, some scratches and scuffs; very good. New York: The Floating Bear, 1962. 1st edition. Soft cover. Very Good/No Jacket (as issued). VG. 4to, 10pp (mimeographed). This issue of the seminal sixties underground periodical Floating Bear was guest-edited by Billy Linich (Billy Name) of Andy Warhol's Factory; many contributions from and references to the 1962 artistic avant-garde. Brief pieces by Ray Johnson and George Brecht; quotes attributed to Andy Warhol, Leo Castelli, Larry Rivers, and others appear in a parodic collection of art-world sayings. Issue also includes a brief advertisement for the Fluxus Anthology (available from LaMonte Young) as well as one for a tape of Young with Angus MacLise, Tony Conrad, and Marian Zazeela. This copy, addressed to Canadian poet David Cull, is sound with a bit of edge wear and soil.

Tucson, Loujon's Desert Workshop Printery, 1969, 192 numbered pages, 214 pp total including photos, illustrations, cartoons, portraits, and publisher's ads, hardcover First Edition limited to 500 copies, Signed by Gypsy Lou Webb at first leaf, Very Good+ condition in Good dustjacket. Straight, tight and clean with no markings, light spine-end bumps, light soiling to bottom edge of boards, some pages age-toned, pen and ink sketch by Francisco McBride appears to have been slightly spotted prior to binding, toning from old tape to rear endpaper. Scarce, illustrated dustjacket (mylared) printed in red on thin tissue-paper exhibits edgewear and chipping with small losses at edges and 2" split near top of spine, toning from old tape inside rear panel. Includes an excerpt from The System of Dante's Hell by Jones and Roosevelt After Inauguration by William Burroughs (Schottlaender v4.C25; Shoaf III-25). An unmarked copy, never folded or mailed, with stains to back cover and a little toning.

Aldous Huxley, born 1894, is best known for his fictional dystopian novel Brave New World, as well as his non-fiction account of his experiences with psychedelics, The Doors of Perception. He was adept at writing a variety of genres, however, including poetry, literary criticism, screenplays, and short stories.
Little Mexican, alternatively known as Young Archimedes in the US and first published in 1924 was Huxley's third collection of short stories, which he primarily wrote in Italy between 1923-1924. There are six stories in total, some of which are semi-autobiographical in nature. The stories in the volume are, "Uncle Spencer," "Little Mexican," "Hubert and Minnie," "Fard," "The Portrait," and "Young Archimedes."

This edition may be described as being in Very Good condition. There is some bumping to the corners and ends of the spine, but the pages are clear and save for some mild age-related discolouration are in excellent condition. There is a previous owners name and date on the front… Read More
