First Edition Association Copy Inscribed by General Ridgway, not the Author. Book and Dust Jacket in Near Fine condition. Inscribed, "To (recipient) Matt Ridgway General U.S. Army Retired 23(can't make out)85. Ships With Delivery Confirmation.

3 spring ups detached but still there - a couple pieces of tape used. Last one top layer of paper off on illustration of curtain and wallpaper. Book has seperated from spine and is taped together. Rubbed corner/hardcover. Small amount of crayon marks on top of cover. I have more..............

SIGNED Name only on title page which is the front end page. Book Near Fine/Tight Binding but has rubbed corners. Wrapper VG, has some wear.

Historical significance by the inventor, author and publisher. Hardcover book is 48 pages, no dust jacket, ink spot on cover, worn around the edges and corners. The exterior pages are red. The sales brochure was designed to fit inside the book. No others currently being marketed at this time.

Contains announcements to home economics teachers with how to order the lessons along with revised score cards of Miss Bevier University of Illinois and references such as The Boston Cooking School. No writing in the notes pages. Includes: 1. A Lesson on Modern Cake Baking 1921 (Cover discolored) 2. Modern Biscuit Baking 1923 3. A Monograph on Muffins 1923 (large stain on back cover of #2 and cover of #3. 4. Deep Fat Frying A Lesson in Monograph Form 1923 5. A Lesson on Waffles and Griddle Cakes 1923 6. A Model Home Kitchen 1926 (several bent bottom page corners) 7. Pastry Baking 1925 8. A Monograph on Cookies 1926. (Back end page of book has a creased corner which affected several previous pages. The last couple of pages have some edgewear and crinkles at the top.)
Hard cover has some edge and corner wear and some stains.

An accordian style book with wood covers. Front side appears to have some water damage. Twenty cases each has a hand colored illustration, two per page. Appears to be water color and colored pencil on silk with a silk background.
Outside dimensions 8 1/4" X 6. Upon opening there is a tear at the top and a knotch size hole at the inseam. The previous owner told me it is in Cantonese and it is also in English. It looks like the author's name is along the inside of the board but I can't read Cantonese. Ships with delivery confirmation where available.

Book is in Very Good condition but the leather cover is fragile/Fair. All around gilt, spine is very worn and the hinges are cracked with the covers almost detached. 771 pages plus transportation. Also includes portraits and biographies of all the presidents of the U.S. and Governors of the State. A very large book, additional shipping outside the continental U.S.A.

Antiquarian Bookstore stamp on flyleaf. Corner is torn and missing from the front end page and title page beneath. There is a wide piece of binding tape attached to the inside cover, front and back, which looks like it used to hold something. No dj. HC is soiled and worn alongs edges and corners. Edges are bumples. Paper on binding is split inside back cover. Interesting and rare book begins with a history of sanitation in battle from the 13th century and a letter from the Surgeon General's Office September 7, 1862 to the Secretary of War. Several pages have tears along the top edge and some pages have tiny creased corners. Contains PLATE MAPS.

Dust jacket has wear along the edges with small tears. There is a piece of tape on the spine along with reinforcement tape inside of dust jacket. Bottem edge of HC is bent. Dust jacket has some scratches and some creasing. Reinforcement binding was added inside front end page and next page. Dust jacket and pages of book have some discoloration from age. Delivery confirmation is provided where available. BOOK IS COMPLETE WITH ALL 44 ILLUSTRATIONS.

Initials J. V.Jr. on spine. Inside VG+, boards chipped with a backside crease and a very worn corner.  Please see title page photo for complete title description.  Book is in SPANISH circa 1851.

Some gilt left on framed figures and page ends. The top corner is black and the rest is brown. There is a corner water stain and a lot of foxing. The end page and back board has pencil coloring along with several other pencil markings. 288 pp. This appears to be a later printing of the 1817 edition, with engravings by Devereux. It is an American edition published in Philadelphia by H. C. Peck and Theo. Bliss

Book is complete . Foxing and water stained . Boards are soiled . Previous owner's name in pencil on free end paper . Joint Resolution 22 passed during this session as well as the state tree and flower was enacted , Senate Bill 597. Book hinges are intact . Bumped edges of boards and spine, worn bottom corner . Authentic

Copyright ends at 1965, No Edition, No Printing Stated. Last page has 72-73-74-75 10 9. The American Edition is the Second Edition. This is a First American Edition with a 1972 (later) Printing. The dust jacket has some soiling with tears at edges of the spine and corners, see photos. Book itself is in Near Fine condition with the exception of a stain inside the cover which transferred to the FEP and bled onto two pages beneath. (Lowered the rating to Very Good). The black boards with blue lettering have bumped spine edges.

This is a small book of poetry by Madame de Basily in English. Her story can be read on the Hoover Institution website. She is American born and the donor of the items in the Nicolas de Basily room. This book was published in Paris the year after her marriage in November, 1919. Her husband was the Diplomat of Imperial Russia 1903 - 1917. The poetry in this 31 page book is dated 1915 - 1917. It appears to be one of a kind. There are marbled end papers plus three from, front and back. The cover has wear as shown. There is foxing from page 21 onward. The poems are titled: In Tifles, The Cry of Holy Russia, Anarchist Lullaby, Human Wreckage, Afternoon Service in the Alexander Newsky Monastery, The Kremlin, White Night on the Gulf of Finland,Republic of Cronstadt, ProphesyTo Life. There is also a dedication to her mother. Mr. and Mrs. de Basily are buried in Baltimore. Land, Estates, and Wealth were never recovered in Russia.
