Adelante follows an unfulfilled young man as he leaves his home in New York City and finds work at a winery in rural South America. He makes friends, makes an enemy, and falls in love. After some friction with his girlfriend drives them apart temporarily, they commit to a new life together and move to her family's vineyard where they live and work together. When continuing in his new life means raising the child of another man, he is forced to reexamine his notion of an ideal existence. Partly a love story, mostly a story about how we deal with change and uncertainty, Adelante explores what really defines meaning in life.
