French military chaplain Jules Chaperon's diary, particularly recounting aspects of the Armenian Genocide - Chaperon showed conspicuous bravery at Aintab in the Cilicia Campaign, and later established orphanages for Armenian children, many of who emigrated to France. Text in French. Editor Boyer, an archaeologist and historian, was also an abbot in France in the Var, a region of Armenian immigration, where he learned fluent Armenian to better serve his community.
