The Purple Witch of Great Sweet Bliss: A Zoltra and Freddy-Eddy Adventure Paperback - 2014

Winter (Dale) Hammell lives in Vancouver, Canada, with his wife, Sharon, and their furry four-legged friends. Several years back Dale had some short stories published, but then became quite ill, and was diagnosed with chronic depression and a personality disorder. From hospital, he was referred to a 'Vancouver Coastal Health' mental- health clinic where he has been a long-time consumer of local psychiatric services. In 1997 he completed a one-year-long film school program and wrote the first episode of an animated TV show called Cyber-6, which aired in 1998-1999 (you can still find it online). He then stopped writing, but took several writing classes, including programs from a school of children's literature. In 2011 Dale started writing again, and now regularly pens essays and articles on mental-health themes for pay, and as a volunteer writer. He's had twenty-six essays published in the last year and one-half. Through exploration of his illness and disclosure of his 'experiences in the system' he considers himself a keyboard-advocate for eliminating the stigma faced by good people who live in the 'shadow world of mental illness'. In 2013 his first children's story, THE GREAT SWEET BLISS STINK-OFF, was published online: rainbowrumpus.org It was well-received. THE PURPLE WITCH OF GREAT SWEET BLISS, again starring Zoltra and Freddy-Eddy, is Dale's first children's book. It is now available as an e-book on Amazon (world-wide) and also as a paperback. Funds are being raised on Kickstarter to produce a bright, colorful and wacky fully-illustrated edition. A series is forming...
