From the publisher

Maurizio Terzini was born in Melbourne to Italian parents, Gina and Arnaldo. When Maurizio was nine years old his family returned to live in Pescara, a small city on Italy's Adriatic Coast, where they stayed for five years. During this time he developed a passion for his Italian heritage, particularly the Italians' love of food, sharing meals, hospitality and conversation.

The Terzini family came back to Melbourne in 1980. In 1988 Maurizio opened his first cafi, the much-loved Caffe e Cucina, in Chapel Street, South Yarra. Since then, Maurizio has revolutionised modern Australian dining in Melbourne and Sydney, creating some of Australia's most successful cafes, bars and restaurants, which have set a benchmark for impeccable and relaxed dining around the country.

Maurizio lives in Sydney with his partner, Kirrily, and has a son, Sylvester. Maurizio's current passion and project is Icebergs Dining Room and Bar, at Bondi Beach.
