Don't Walk on My Dreams is the third novel in which Mrs. Nelson put into words the deprivations, the fears, the joys, and the abiding courage of her race. Like the two previous works, it records a mixture of general experience, stories related to her by others, and events she has witnessed. It continues Mrs. Nelson's descriptions of Southern Negro lore and life and looks forward optimistically to better days for both blacks and whites.
