This is an exact facsimile copy of the first edition of Appointment in Samarra, by John O'Hara, first published in 1934. Both the book and jacket are precise copies of the original in every detail. The only indicators that they are facsimiles are the "FEL" on the right flap of the jacket and a small block of explanation on the copyright page. First Edition Library published this book for its members who bought it by subscription. Hardcover. Black linen cloth binding with gilt lettering on the spine. Bright yellow top stain. The book comes in a handsome gray slipcase, (though the original did not), and the slipcase bears pastedowns of the exact, illustrated dustjacket on both the front and back sides. First Edition Library inserted a card that summarizes things like the book, the author, the title, the audience, and the target copy (the one that was copied). This card is present and laid in. The book, dust jacket and slipcase are all in beautiful condition. 301 pp. An extremely small, single millimeter closed tear at the head of the dj spine, and a small ding in the foot of the slipcase, else fine.
